Canvas is our digital classroom. The PowerSchool Parent Portal provides family access to grades, attendance, and missing work. Families should check both regularly.

Family Hub Policy #1

Cell Phone Policy

Powered off. Stored away. Inaccessible.

During the school day, student cell phones and personal wireless communication devices must be powered off, stored away, and inaccessible to students.

  • The rule applies bell to bell, including arrival, classes, passing periods, lunch, and dismissal.
  • Approved exceptions may apply for an IEP, Section 504 plan, documented medical need, emergency, language translation, or authorized audio-only note-taking.
  • Families who need to reach a student during the school day should contact the school office.
  • Violations are handled under the SBCSC Student Code of Conduct. A confiscated device must be retrieved by a parent or guardian from administration.

Keep the major 2026–2027 assessment windows close. The schedule includes ILEARN Checkpoints, IREAD, ILEARN Summative, Social Studies, and WIDA ACCESS.

My Educational Journey

Experience shaped by service, leadership, and growth.

I entered education after more than 20 years in business, operations, sales, recruiting, and team leadership. That experience continues to shape how I build relationships, set expectations, solve problems, and prepare students for the future.

Four years teaching middle school, including Project Lead The Way and design and engineering.

Served in student support roles as Dean of Students, intervention teacher, mentor, and Academic Coach.

Leadership experience in transportation, school systems, team development, and daily operations.

Bachelor's degree from Bethel University and graduate study through Bethel's Transition to Teaching to MAT pathway.
